We know OptimizePress offers 19 different squeeze page templates for lead capture. So we can use any one of the squeeze template but to collect email we need to integrate autoresponder systems with OptimizePress. The Aweber integration with OptimizePress discussed here.
This article explains the Mailchimp integration with OptimizePress. Any autoresponder system integration needs two pages one is the form fields page (squeeze page) another one is thank you page which will be shown to the visitor immediately once they have subscribed to the list.
Autoresponder integration in any page template is useful to build email list for different purposes. But in case of squeeze page template we need more responsibility because it is the first conversion step in the sales funnel. OptimizePress theme makes the autoresponder integration with squeeze page as simple as possible.
OptimizePress offers the integration self hosted autoresponders systems, Aweber, Get response, Constant contact, iContact and Infusion soft. The Mailchimp integration on lead page (Squeeze) have below steps.
- Create Email list in Mailchimp
- Create form fields in Mailchimp
- Setup Thank You page in web form
- Get form field embed code
- Add mail chimp code in OptimizePress
These five steps are necessary to create squeeze page with Mailchimp optin form in OptimizePress installed wordpress site.
Login to your Mailchimp autoresponder system if you don’t have account create an account in Mailchimp you can send 12,000 emails per month ate free of cost no credit card required to signup in Mailchimp autoresponder service.
Once you have logged in to the Mailchimp account you will seen like the below image.
Click on create a list button in the Mailchimp account you will be directed to the Mailchmip list settings, just follow the instructions on the screen and fill out the necessary information like list name, replay email, company address and etc to create a new list.
Once you filled the information just click on the save button you will see the list creation success information along with edit list options. The emails subscribed by the landing page visitors will be collected in this list.
Once you have created the list for the integration of Mailchimp with OptimizePress squeeze page. Now you need to create subscription form with necessary fields in Mailchimp. First identify the required fields in squeeze page optin form in OptimizePress.
We need to use the same fields with the same order from top to bottom in order to avoid the mis configuration between the form fields of OptimizePress and Mailchimp. Because the integration was just one click process after added the Mailchimp form embed code in OptimizePress it will automatically detect the various fields in the form code to OptimizePress optin options.
To create form in Mailchimp click the form link in the corresponding list no it will be redirected to the form editor.
Just choose signup form in the forms and response emails dropdown box. By default sign up form will be selected just make sure the dropdown box. After the selection navigate to the built it tab you will see the default Mailchimp form fileds with the order email, first name and last name.
But we don’t require all the three fields in squeeze page templates. First name and Email field are well enough in lead capture page optin forms.
So now we need to delete the last name field from the Mailchimp form for this just click on the last name field then select (-) button to delete the field. One more thing we need to move the first name above the email field in order to avoid miss configuration in OptimizePress squeeze page name and email fields.
So to move first name above email just drag and drop the fist name field and just save the form no need to design the form in Mailchimp because we need to configure the form field in Mailchimp with inbuilt form in OptimizePress squeeze page.
The thank you page for the Mailchimp optin form has two pages as follows
- Sign up Thank you page
- Confirmation Thank you page
We should set up both a pages for better conversion. Sign up thank you page will be shown immediately after the subscription has been made in the squeeze page with message for the email conformation for the sign up.
We can use the default Mailchimp page or custom page for this thank you page. For custom sign up thank you page create the page in OptimizePress installed site with confirm your subscription message and enter the URL in the box available in the sign up thank you page at Mailchimp.
Now the second thank you page is Confirmation Thank you page. This page will be shown after the confirmation has done in the email inbox. With a message as thank you for sign up on the squeeze page.
We can use default Mailchimp page or custom page for this thank you page or custom page I prefer to use custom thank you page for both pages. Create the page in optimizepress and add URL in Mailchimp form editor and save it, don’t forget to save this form. Now you have finished the thank you page set up.
Once you build the form now you need to get the embed code for this Go to forms in the list move on to the share it tab in the create forms section.
Now click on button create html code for the form you will see three options below
- Supper slim form
- Classic form
- Naked form
Once you have selected the naked form we have option to choose all form fields by default it has three fields. If you have chosen all fields the designed form fields in the previous step will be shown here.
Now click create embed code button at the bottom we html embed code in the prompt box just copy the embed code form the box and page in OptimizePress squeeze page make sure that all the codes has selected before copy he html code.
Login to the OptimizePress WordPress site dashboard and create new page and choose templates any one among the 19 squeeze page templates.
Now choose the optin form options for the squeeze page and go to the tab Autoresponder codes Now you will have the box to add the embed code copied from Mailchimp. Just paste the code in the box and click outside the box. OptimizePress will automatically grab the required fields from the embed code and filled in the below boxes check out this feature.
You need to make sure that the Name and Email fields are matched correctly if it doesn’t match then there was a problem in configuration you need to check the form fields again in the Mailchimp.
That’s it, we have added embed code in OptimizePress. OptimizePress have different sign up button for the squeeze page templates. Just click on the select or upload mage in the bottom you will see different optin form sign up buttons you choose the right one for the squeeze page.
